02 Apr Nutritious and delicious eats- coconut dark Chocolate energy bites
Hey there! Rachel here from Steady Rhythm Wellness. As a new mama to my sweet baby girl, Finley, and a health coach passionate about helping others, I’m so excited to share another monthly nutrition blog with Doulas of Marquette.
Pregnancy, birth, and recovery takes a big toll on your body. Today, I want to focus on postpartum nutrition. After the baby arrives, it is such a sacred time and important for mama to nourish and heal. This can also be a really hard season to find the time to prepare healthy food.
I remember those first weeks being so hungry because I couldn’t figure out how to feed myself. I was so overwhelmed with becoming a new mama that eating healthy fell to the back burner. I quickly realized I needed to take care of myself to show up as a healthy mama for my daughter – mentally, physically, and as a nursing mom. Now that I understand what help is available, I could have really benefited from the Doulas of Marquette postpartum services.
A few weeks after my daughter was born, a friend of mine dropped off some energy bites on my doorstep. I was so thankful! I have made energy bites every week since. I love this recipe because it is super tasty, quick to prepare, and full of quality nutrients – plus, I can make them with just one hand!
I have eaten these coconut dark chocolate energy bites with yogurt and fruit in the morning for breakfast. I have snacked on these at 3 am when I’m up with my daughter and also eat them for an afternoon pick-me-up.
I hope you enjoy this delicious recipe! We’d love to receive your pics and feedback! Check out the tags to Steady Rhythm Wellness and Doulas of Marquette for more great resources!
