In the spirit of Natural Medicine, a primary goal of Acupuncture Office Marquette is to provide our clients with a broader understanding of health and a more lasting sense of well-being. Instead of the traditional disease-centered approach of conventional medicine, natural medicine applies a client-centered approach that addresses the whole person rather than simply symptoms. We combine the discipline of modern science with the wisdom of ancient healing and take advantage of the knowledge of several disciplines including acupuncture, hypnotherapy, flower essences, supplements, essential oils, internal medicine and more. What this means is that client and provider work together to develop an integrated diagnostic and therapeutic plan that will best address the whole client.

Creatively Celebrating Your Pregnancy: Henna Art during your pregnancy is an ancient practice believed to protect and bless the mother and child, and to bring about an easy birth and a healthy child. Applying henna directly to the body is a creative new twist on an old tradition. The ephemeral nature of henna art is a lovely way to celebrate the beauty of pregnancy and this special time in a woman’s life.

Acupuncture is the insertion of ultra-thin, sterile needles into specific acupuncture points on the body which reside on channels or meridians; these are pathways in both the exterior and interior of the body. These points, when needled, can regulate the way in which the body functions. Acupuncture as it is practiced today is a safe, comfortable and cost effective treatment for many fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum health issues as well as for overall optimal health of mother and child.

At the Meridian, we look forward to working with you as you transition through your pregnancy, delivery, and motherhood. With your ever-changing body in mind and to ensure your comfort and safety, we have special pregnancy pillows, a seated massage table, and side lying massage as options.

Community Member Review:
“Throughout my pregnancy I regularly had prenatal massage with Jill Kangas at the Meridian. My growing belly was accommodated with pregnancy pillows so I could still lie on my stomach. To my surprise, when my belly outgrew the pillows, side lying massage was also very effective as well as relaxing. As my body changed I always felt flexible, balanced and relaxed. I couldn’t imagine going through pregnancy without seeing Jill on a regular basis.” Laura Gordon

I believe it is essential to use every advantage when it comes to one’s health, wellness and quality of life. Acupuncture and Cup Therapy can make an unexpected and joyful lift to your health. Many women have found acupuncture to be very beneficial treating all menstrual stages of life. Men come in for pain, muscle, arthritis and the desire to regain strength and range of motion they had in their younger days. Regardless of why you seek integrative medicine please know that incorporating both Eastern ans Western philosophies is the top priority at Mi Acupuncture. I will work with your team to put you at the height of your health.

My entrance into pregnancy photography came about as a passion and a dedication to help people see the beauty of this moment, to memorialize and cherish; each woman’s journey, each woman’s body and belly in miraculous transformation, and to especially give tribute to the gift of love and life. I also want to say how very grateful I am for my husband, each journey we’ve taken through pregnancy and the beautiful souls that have come through us to touch our hearts and change our world forever.

Thank you also to those of you that have continually inspired and supported my work with big bellies and little babes.

We utilize several different techniques for adjusting, with the primary being Koren Specific Technique (KST). There is no twisting, turning, “cracking” or “popping” of joints; instead you receive gentle, specific corrections to your spine and structural system. Most adjustments or corrections are done with you standing or sitting. KST is very gentle and yet very powerful. Patients usually notice dramatic changes from the first visit. Your body will likely hold its corrections for a much longer time with KST, so you can have deeper physical and emotional subluxations (stresses) added.
