15 Feb This Is Dedicated To The One I Love
Valentine’s Day is nearly gone, and to be honest, I’ve been so busy over here in Mama zone that it nearly passed by without me even getting a chance to acknowledge it.
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, loves.
Somewhere between the valentines being written out, the grandparent’s cards being sent out (late, of course), and a husband who needed to travel during this time, it just sort of flew by.
That’s like life though, to just fly by.
The other day as I looked at a dear friend’s throwback video of her now teenage daughter when she was a tot, it hit me hard…time doesn’t stand still for anyone.
As a mother, business owner, and most of all woman, I’ve been guilty of not always making time for myself. I know I’m not alone in this.
Somehow busyness has become glorified, and so much so that we aren’t often available emotionally, mentally, physically for each other.
And time, well she just keeps ticking on by.
I’ve been SO guilty of this.
That’s why this year, I decided to do it different.
To dedicate a year to myself, to the one I love (and fight like hell daily to love).
To say no to guilt trips (whether real or in my head), to say yes to the things I know I was made to do even though I’m sometimes scared, and to take time to support me as I support all of you.
I even scheduled a Maya Abdominal Massage with the magical Chloe, which I’ve been talking about for over a year…or two.
The thing is the better we all care for ourselves, the better we can care for others.
And I LOVE caring for others.
Being a safe place, a place of encouragement, and a place of trust to others, is what I was put on this planet to do. Whether it’s my family, clients, other doulas, friends, or even strangers, I want to pour out love to everyone.
That’s why I’m filling up my well this year to pour out to others, will you join me and fill up yours too?
“If there’s one thing I want you to do especially for me
Then it’s something that everybody needs…
Each night before you go to bed, my baby,
Whisper a little prayer for me, my baby,
And tell all the stars above –
This is dedicated to the one I love.”
